Is Climate Change Real? The Pentagon Sure Thinks So

This just demonstrates that all our government agencies, including the
military, have been taken  over by Leftists. Consequently they are concerned
primarily with advancing Leftist-Progressive policies and agendas. Most of
the military's senior leadership today is Liberal/Leftist/Progressive in
ideology and consequently supports Leftist social engineering police. If
they did not, they would not have made it into the senior leadership. This
recent focus on climate change as a "national security" issue is merely more
evidence of it. Now we are to believe that terrorism, insecure national
borders and border violence, massive illegal immigration, Russian and
Chinese aggression and runaway national debt are all not nation security
issues, but man-made climate change is.

"US. military and intelligence agencies are increasingly monitoring andpreparing for how, when and where the consequences of a warmer planet willcollide with national security, requiring the eventual need to deployAmerican troops to weather-torn lands."
As climate-change arguments continue at home - including pundits who assertthe scientific consensus on the issue is overblown or concocted - currentand former Department of Defense officials are mapping future strategies toprotect U.S. interests in the aftermath of massive floods, water shortagesand famines that are expected to hit and decimate unstable nations.
"For DoD, this is a mission reality, not a political debate," said MarkWright, a Pentagon spokesman. "The scientific forecast is for more Arcticice melt, more sea-level rise, more intense storms, more flooding from stormsurge, and more drought. The White House on Tuesday released an alarminglitany of current and near-term weather calamities that Americans shouldplan to endure due to ongoing atmospheric shifts. That report also noted:"The implications of climate change for U.S. national security aresignificant." And the White House cited a 2010 Pentagon review that, for thefirst time, acknowledged climate change would play a "significant role inshaping the future security environment."
But inside and outside the DoD, many experts agree U.S. national securityalready is being tested by massive unrest, revolts and humanitariancalamities triggered, in part, by climate change. The civil war in Syria, which has left an estimated 100,000 people dead, hasits roots in a regional drought, said retired Navy Vice Adm. Lee Gunn, now amember of the military advisory board for CNA Corporation, a non-profitresearch and analysis organization in Alexandria, Virginia.
"The current Syrian situation is linked in my mind, in part, to a foodshortage and drought in the region, which among other things drove peoplefrom the farms to the cities," Gunn said.
"The cities were unprepared in Syria to deliver the services demanded by arapidly increasing population. Whatever the other stresses were that theSyrian government was undergoing, this had the potential to accelerate thatset of conditions."

Despite their outward pacifist stance, Leftists are not opposed to military
intervention per se, only to military intervention by
Conservatives/Republican administrations. The Leftist elites believe that
military force definitely has a place when it comes to advancing Leftist
'revolutionary" changes to society.

"All counter-revolutionary wars are unjust, all revolutionary wars are
just."
--Mao Zedong (1893-1976), Chinese statesman. From On Protracted War (1938).

"Should weather disasters overwhelm and destabilize governments, ultimatelywiping out the existing rule of law, "that's where you get all manner of badfolks filling that vacuum," McGinn said. "It could be terrorists. It couldbe paramilitary, crime syndicates in the absence of good governance. That'sthe big concern."
"We (the military) have a strong history of being apolitical. We alsounderstand risk. We deal with life-and-death risk," McGinn said. "This givesus a credibility and a perspective that is necessary in dealing with allkinds of threats to national security, including threats due to climatechange."

On the contrary, the U.S. military is no longer "apolitical", rather U.S.
military plans and polices are now and henceforth firmly rooted in advancing
the Leftist transformational agenda.
