If You Have a Choice Between Going to a Dumpster or to a VA Hospital, Head for the Dumpster Every Time

Like they say, the  truth hurts because the truth is that you’re stupid and you’re ugly and your mother dresses you funny.

Personally I have had good experiences with the VA medical services in my region. They have been efficient and professional, particularly in providing preventive checks and procedures. Although they can be somewhat slow and inflexible in responding to unscheduled requests for treatment. They're not set up for urgent care, after all. But of course when people feel like they need a doctor, they want to see one right now! Not next month or even next week! This difference in expectations often leads to grievances, of course (and why people crowd emergency rooms at the local hospital). Plus as reports have revealed, the VA has created a perverse set of incentives for its hospitals not to treat people, so of course its administrators acted perversely in order to please their hierarchy, earn a bonus  and ultimately keep their jobs.
