Hillary Clinton is starting her campaign by writing off half the country.She still hasn't learned what Dems learned during her husband's time inoffice. that gun control is an election loser.
It alienates even many Democrats and Independents. And after last month,maybe Hillary should be pushing shoe control.
The former secretary of state, who would be the Democratic frontrunner in2016 should she run, was delivering the keynote address at a conference heldby the National Council for Behavioral Health, an organization that focuseson mental health.
"We have to rein in what has become [an] almost article of faith, thatanybody can own a gun anywhere, anytime. And I don't believe that," shesaid.
Clinton, who argued it was possible to hold her position and still supportthe right to gun ownership, warned that unfettered access to guns could havedangerous consequences.
"Now it's time to start talking about the vast right wing conspiracy."
What she really means is that she doesn't want anybody to own a gun
anywhere. We've figured out by now what Leftists like Hillary really wants
is complete civilian disarmament.
It appears that what Hillary is doing with this pronouncement in favor of
gun control/civilian disarmament, as ill-advised as it might seem on the
face of it, is to try to move from the center to the Left on policy issues
to get the Leftist base of the Democrat Party firmly on her side for the
2016 election. Otherwise she faces a nomination battle with hard core
Leftists like Sen. Elizabeth Warren. That's why she 'evolved" on the issue
of same-sex marriage after all, just as President Obama did from 2008 to
2011, to get campaign money and votes from the Left. Keep in mind that it's
likely that the Republican establishment will alienate Conservative voters
into staying home by the millions in 2016 as they did in 2008 and 2012 by
nominating another lukewarm RINO candidate. That is why it is important for
Hillary to persuade the Leftist base of the Democrat party to support her
whole-heartedly.
