A student is injured and a female gunman is dead after a shooting at a high school in West Texas.
Alpine High School was placed on lockdown after reports of an active shooter Thursday morning, around 9am
The Brewster County Sheriff's Office says a 14-year-old female freshman student brought a semi-automatic pistol 'with plenty of ammunition' to school and shot another female student in the band hall bathroom, before turning the gun on herself to commit suicide.
Neither the victim or the shooter have been identified. The victim is believed to be 16 years old.
The shooter's grandparents said she was a straight-A student and there were no indications of trouble at home. She had only been living in the town for six months.
