America, the Irrelevant

“It could be that the Ukrainian defense minister doesn't want to know what the US thinks.”
“Or, it could be that he doesn't care. Either way, it's a pretty shocking admission about US irrelevancy during a major crisis.”
Well, isn’t this exactly what the Obama Administration said it wanted: for America to abdicate its leadership position in the world and become just another face in the global crowd? A country that minds its own business and doesn’t poke its nose unbidden into the affairs of others. You know, like Canada.

Looks like the rest of the world is taking the Obama Administration at its word. And, of course, once you take a position like this you can’t turn it on and off as you please and realistically expect to have any credibility and influence with other countries. Actions speak louder than words, after all.
