LA CROSSE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- An intruder is behind bars and recovering from a gunshot wound after investigators say she tried to burglarize an auto repair business in La Crosse County.
Police say Amy Zielke,37, entered the business at 1:30 a.m. in the Town of Holland.
The owner of the store says he heard the door being kicked in and checked his security cameras.
According to the owner, Zielke had a mask on with a pry bar and refused to drop it; that's when police say the owner shot her in the leg.
The owner says he recognized her as a former customer.
Zielke is being held in the La Crosse County Jail and is expected to be in court Tuesday.
