Neil deGrasse Tyson: Obama Forced Himself On 'Cosmos'

'NASA" now stands for "No Americans in Space Anymore". Since space
exploration doesn't advance the cause of social justice here on  earth, it
has been judged by the Leftist ruling elite to be of limited value.

On Monday, Grantland's Hollywood Prospectus ran an interview with Neil
deGrasse Tyson regarding the details of the hit show Cosmos that he and Seth
MacFarlane recently put together for the Fox network. In the course of the
interview, Tyson was asked about how President Obama came to give the
introduction to the show in its first episode. The answer was surprising, or
not surprising at all, depending on how much attention you've been paying
the last few years to Obama the celebrity.
"

What was the process of getting Obama to introduce the show in the first
episode?

That was their choice. We didn't ask them. We didn't have anything to say
about it. They asked us, "Do you mind if we intro your show?" Can't say no
to the president. So he did. He may have been riding the very high media
attention that Cosmos had been getting on the ramp-up. Because it was airing
in prime time on a network -

It was a good look for him.

Right. Because it was airing in prime time on a network, reporters that
normally covered television entertainment and not television documentaries
were tasked with covering Cosmos.

That's right, Barack Obama literally took over the Cosmos! It's not so much
a surprise as it is a useful reminder of who The One is, even if only in his
own mind.

Tyson very carefully even floated a potential political motive behind the
President's ploy.
"

That same week, by the way, Obama - the White House - released its budget,
which included a reduction in the science spending in NASA. So if you look
at it politically, rather than gesturally, it's easy to think of that as a
way for him to try to gain points back in the science community, immediately
after dropping the science budget for NASA.

The same week he cuts funding for NASA he bullies his way onto the big,
shiny new science show and uses the word "we" a lot, the better to make
pretense of being a part of, rather than an obstacle to, the scientific
community. Another huge surprise from the consummate celebritician;
distracting from his problems by attempting to borrow and trade on the
success of others.

Is anyone out there really shocked to find out that Barack Obama tried to
make the universe all about him? When Armageddon comes and billions of
voices cry out in terror, you can bet that President Yes We Can will be
there with a screenshot from this show: Himself with a picture of all of
existence behind him, in his shadow. Just how he likes it.
