OTTAWA - Canadian Forces aircraft have begun operational flights and are
expected to begin bombing ISIS targets in Iraq any time now.

Six CF-18 fighter jets, two CP-140 Aurora surveillance aircraft and one
C-150 refuelling aircraft are stationed in Kuwait City.

A defence department source said "operations have begun but not bomb
dropping."

Canadian fighter jets will conduct missions along with forces from
Australia, the U.K., U.S. and some Gulf states.

Canadian Forces conducted their operational missions amid reports ISIS has
acquired shoulder-to-air anti-aircraft missiles.

About 600 Canadian soldiers are stationed in Kuwait City waiting for the
combat mission to begin.

It's unclear who, within the international coalition, is giving orders.
