FYI: ironically enough albinism occurs much more frequently among black Africans than among white Europeans. There is a strong belief in magic and witchcraft in Africa. Albinos are believed to be magic by many in Africa; it is believed that their body parts can be used to cast spells and to create potions that will cure diseases or imbue the user with special powers. So one has to imagine that African albinos must lead an unhappy life. In addition to the health problems that albinos suffer (poor vision and painful hypersensitivity to light) African albinos are constantly under the threat of being kidnapped and murdered.

Witch doctors have convinced many Africans that body part from Albinos can be used as a potion that will make them wealthy. In April four albino Africans were found murdered or missing.
