The nanny state in action. Under British law just about anything can be labeled an “offensive weapon” and therefore prohibited for carry or possession by the average citizen. A right of self-defense pretty much does not exist in the UK. Despite the UK government’s desire to keep everything sharp away from everybody, the Leftists who run the UK have greater sympathy for the country’s criminal class than they do for law-abiding British citizens. The state MIGHT go after a criminal offender for harming an innocent citizen, provided that the state is sufficiently annoyed by the criminal’s extra-legal activity. Otherwise not. Of course it is oft times necessary to publicly demonstrate to the proles that the government IS doing something to protect them, no matter how transparently inadequate that demonstration will be to anybody with any sense. Symbolism over substance, always.

A haul of weapons and more than £30,000 in cash were seized by police in a major drugs bust this morning.
I thought the U.S. was being converted to a bunch of wimps. This is pathetic. Any normal 15 year old could come up with better weapons than this collection from the kitchen drawer and utility closet. A golf club or Cricket bat would be more formidable.
