Clever scheme. Actually these people weren’t doing anything different than what most charities and not for profit organizations do nowadays. Particularly secular charities and not for profit organizations: most of the money does not go to the people the charities are claiming to help, rather most of money goes to provide a good paying job for the people who run that organization and/or is diverted to support candidates for political office, particularly Democrat candidates.
