ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —A trail of damage is left behind after a shooter fired multiple shots in an Orange County neighborhood.
The bullets went flying as a man was walking home at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Rodrick Circle near Wyndham Lakes Boulevard.
The evidence from the shootout is still visible, including dried blood and a bullet hole lodged in a door frame.
According to the Orange County Sheriff'’s Office, a 25-year-old victim told deputies he was walking home when several people got out of a silver-colored car and began shooting at him.
Deputies say the victim pulled out his own gun and returned fire.
The victim was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooters got away.
Police said it's unclear how many people were involved or if the victim knew the suspects.
Renaud Fenster is the Home Owner’s Association president for Camden Landing at Wyndham Lake Estates. He said there is a neighborhood watch program and off-duty officers patrol the community.
It's unclear what sparked the shootout, which he believes was a targeted attack.
“It's a really tragic situation,” Fenster said.
Police have not released a description of the shooters nor have they released the name of the victim.
Anyone with information about the shooter(s) is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
