Younger People Like Socialism More Than Capitalism

How do you talk young people out of this ruinously stupid idea of socialism? In the words of John J. Ray it is “candy-coated rat poison”. In many cases you cannot talk people out of it. They must find out the hard way.

As you can see, the majority of young people under 30 actually support socialism MORE than capitalism by a fairly large margin – 43 to 32 percent. More surprisingly, Democrats in general are split equally, with both socialism and capitalism being rated at 42% favorability each.
The only demographics in which socialism trails capitalism by significant margins are, predictably, among more affluent families, people older than 65, and Republicans.
There is only one way to peacefully fend this off. r/K Selection is the right idea at the right time, and it is reaching critical mass at the perfect moment.
When used, it should be presented a certain way. Here appears to be the best way people are laying it out to the uninitiated:
Explain r/K in the animal world. Show how each mindset is a perfect adaptation to resource glut or shortage.
Explain how these two mindsets emerge in societies spontaneously as resources vary, and highlight that this is how people are subconsciously seeking advantage. Explain how when we enter a period of shortage, those who do this will outcompete everyone, unless everyone else adapts too.
Your goal is to trigger their competitiveness below their conscious radar. If they don’t adapt, they will be left behind. That is a very strong behavioral driver.
You aren’t telling them what to do. You aren’t passing any judgments, or saying any one thing is better than another. You don’t even have any particular position you care about. This isn’t related to liberal or conservative or Republican or Democrat. Those are all ways to trigger the amygdala and trigger cognitive resistance to the idea. This is just your read of what the reality in the world is.
If you do it right, they will see the superiority of the K-strategy, and those core values will begin to appeal to them, due to their own desire to be competitive. As they begin to adopt those ideas, they will begin to feel that they are of the warrior tribe, and the hippie tribe will begin to appear to them as failure waiting to be defeated.
r/K is the only thing which can do this to the younger generation, short of full on Apocalypse and all the accoutrement.
