True. President Obama is curtailing American involvement in foreign affairs and reducing the size of the U.S. military precisely because he believes it is the right thing to do. He believes that America has been a bully to the rest of the world and that must stop. He believes that a many Americans agree with  him. He is correct in that regard, many do.

In any event, we haven’t gotten a good  return on our investment from our interventions, thanks to the fact that the Leftists have done their level best to undermine all our efforts, from Vietnam to Afghanistan. Consequently, as Mark Steyn observed, America has a military that cannot be beaten and yet cannot win.
