These homeless men frequently resorted to theft and robbery to sustain themselves. The tramps stole anything “not nailed down”. Highway robberies became frequent, as well as murders committed in the course of a robbery. The town of Whitewater, in particular, was plagued by young Irish street fighters during this period. These young Irish hoodlums engaged in brawls frequently with “brass knuckles, clubs and rocks”.  Many of the law-abiding people of the region responded to the rampant violent crime by going armed with concealed weapons. “It was not rare to see a boy as young as 12-years-old carrying a pistol in his back pocket” (Murders of Whitewater and Surrounding Counties by Len Faytus).

Looks like the more things change the more they stay the same. Except that in times past one was allowed to identify the ethnicity of the offenders.

 Since MAJ Singh is a medical doctor, it's no wonder the Army was willing to
wave the rules to get him in the service.

that a Sikh can wear a helmet, can wear a gas mask and get a seal . that we
can do everything that is needed by any soldier, with our articles of faith
intact."

Well if that's the case then, let EVERYONE grow beards and wear their hair
long. There clearly  is no longer a material reason to require all other
male soldiers to be clean shaven and have extremely short haircuts.
Continuing such a policy on the grounds of uniformity of appearance and/or
cohesion then just amounts to ritual humiliation of the majority of male
soldiers. Not to mention the fact that the service is continuing to let
women wear their hair long even though it intends to open all military
occupation specialties to them.

But hey, I like the ACU Turban. Are ACU hijabs and Burka's next? If
multiculturalism is sauce for the goose, it ought to be sauce for the
gander.

It's apparently a case of unrequited love, which is not an uncommon motive
for murder. However, for some reason the American news media feels the need
to ignore the race of the murderer. Would the American news media be doing
so if the murderer had been white and one of the victims in this alleged
love triangle had been black?

Another interesting aspect of this crime is that during the past 40 years
many states have mandated permit requirements and/or waiting periods (AKA
"cooling off" periods) for purchasing handguns, on the grounds that handguns
were more likely to be used in the commission of crimes of passion, whereas
long guns (shotguns and rifles) were used for sporting purposes.. It never
seems to have occurred to the anti-gun Leftists that someone bent on
premeditated murder might simply circumvent the bureaucratic obstacles by
buying a long gun, instead.  Or maybe Leftist did, and they now have been
given reason to call for greater restrictions on the sale of shotguns and
rifles. After all, the ultimate goal of the Left IS to ban all private gun
ownership and they have understood that such a ban, like most of their other
transformational goals for American society, will have to be achieved
incrementally over a span of many years.

The problem is that states are unable to procure the preferred drug that
completely anesthetizes the condemned prisoner, so that the effects of the
two different poisons that paralyze the breathing and stop the heart of the
condemned are not visible to an observer. And that IS the problem, for if
any form of capital punishment is to be considered acceptable, it MUST
leave a peaceful looking corpse that won't offend the sensibilities  of the
social and political elitists who typically comprise most of the witnesses
to executions nowadays.

Otherwise the guillotine would be the most humane and cost effective means
of capital punishment. For on a regulation built guillotine the 85 pound
blade assembly is dropped on the condemned prisoner's neck from a height of
seven and a half feet; so even if the blade was dull as a  spoon, the force
of the blow would still separate the condemned person's head from his body
in an instant. But again, that does not make for a peaceful looking corpse,
does it?

The two groups who would really benefit from this “immigration reform” (AKA Amnesty) are the business interests who want an endless supply of cheap labor for agriculture, construction, domestic servants, janitorial staff, the restaurant and hospitality industries and what have you, and the Democrat party who would stand to gain 10 to 50 million new Democrat voters, making them the permanent ruling party nationally.

One reason author Hawkins doesn’t mention for this self-destructive Republican support for amnesty is that the Republicans are desperate to be liked and thought of as “good people” by the media and the other Liberal denizens of Washington D.C. As Rush has observed, the establishment Republicans are psychologically whipped. They have been successfully demonized in the eyes of so many low information voters over the years by the Leftist controlled media, such that these establishment Republicans feel desperate to want to try anything that might change this. But this is delusional, magical thinking on their part. One  enormous case of Stockholm Syndrome. Nothing the Republicans could ever do would make the Leftists like and/or respect them. Like Charles Krauthammer wrote, “To understand the workings of American politics, you have to understand this fundamental law: Conservatives think liberals are stupid. Liberals think conservatives are evil.” The Leftists only want to destroy the Republicans, to chase them away back to their home districts, so no one will stand in the way of fulfilling their transformation of the country into a socialist state.
