Trump, Death Wish, the Wollman Rink, the Damn Fence, and the White House

Yeah, the last four letters of American spell “I can”! It’s Trumps good ole’ American ‘can do’ attitude that is making him popular with the public right now. It shines a light on the fact that neither political party is governing according to the will of the majority anymore. They both have their hidden agenda’s. The Democrats want to transform the country into  place no one will want to live in and the Republicans are too cowardly to stop them. Just build the damn fence already!

At that moment, Donald Trump was probably the most popular man in the five boroughs, because he had done something that everybody knew was possible except the city’s entrenched, corrupt Democratic Party establishment, for whom the millions of dollars wasted was not a bug but a feature of personal enrichment. Recall as well that this was the era of the defeatist Upper West Side whine from behind multiple locked doors: nothing can be done! Crime is unstoppable! Kids are going to have sex no matter what you tell them! Who are we to judge?! Call the cops! (Eventually, the voters did call the cops, in the form of Rudy Giuliani and Bill Bratton.) Trump showed that, at least in the case of the Wollman Rink, something very much could be done.
This is what is behind the Trump boomlet. It’s not so much his particular stance on, say, immigration, it’s that he has the confidence to say to the voters: this can be done. ”You can always get the job done through sheer force of will,” would be a hell of a campaign slogan. Forget the six-point programs and position paper beloved of the krack kadres of GOP kampaign konsultants, and the carefully parsed answers to trick questions from the media. Just build the damn fence.

The Central Inclusiveness Agency

Is this where that push for a black “James Bond” was coming from? Well like I say, it’s not like we’re going to fight in anymore wars or anything like that.

CIA Director John Brennan says America’s top spies are not diverse enough, and he’s doing something about it.
At a time when global terrorism is resurgent, when the Middle East is burning, when Russian boots are marching, when China is ramping up its military and Iran is on the verge of going nuclear, is it really a good idea to ask the CIA to concentrate on achieving a 30% minority quota in the agency’s leadership ranks?
Mr. Brennan evidently thinks so. In his statement accompanying the study’s release, the CIA director said he has ordered that beginning Oct. 1 every member of his senior leadership team will be required “to attend diversity and inclusion training.” As of that date, these top CIA officials will also be “evaluated on their actions to create, maintain, and sustain a diverse and inclusive environment.”

Republican leadership preparing to roll over on the issue of transgenders in the military.

It’s all over but the gender change. How did we win wars before we had transgender soldiers anyway? I guess it doesn’t matter, because clearly we don’t plan on winning a war ever again. We’re an unjust, uncaring, greedy, capitalist, imperialist, racist, sexist and homophobic country, so we deserve to get our ass kicked.

Bill Cosby said he got drugs to give women for sex

He just wanted to have sex…What’s wrong with that?…Everyone wants to have sex…Hey! Hey! Hey!

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Bill Cosby admitted in 2005 that he secured quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with and that he gave the sedative to at least one woman and "other people," according to documents obtained Monday by The Associated Press.
Cosby's lawyers insisted that two of the accusers knew they were taking quaaludes from the comedian, according to the unsealed documents.
Nevertheless, attorneys for some of the numerous women suing Cosby seized on the testimony as powerful corroboration of what they have been saying all along: that he drugged and raped women.
The AP had gone to court to compel the release of a deposition in a sexual-abuse case filed by former Temple University employee Andrea Constand, the first of a cascade of lawsuits against him that have severely damaged his good-guy image.

Swiss right-to-die group gets green light for new suicide room

ZURICH (Reuters) - A Swiss organization that helps terminally ill people take their own lives and defends their right to refuse medical treatment said on Monday local authorities had allowed it to open another room for assisted suicides.
Exit, which provides lethal drugs to help people die, said the Basel canton's local building council had dismissed objections to its plan to convert part of its office in Binning, Switzerland, into an assisted suicide room.
Some local residents and businesses had objected to having such a facility nearby and argued it did not conform to local building regulations.
The room would be Zurich-based Exit's second in Switzerland. The group's board will now decide whether to convert the room.
"I expect that we will go ahead with the conversion because the reason for it is clear," said Exit Managing Director Bernhard Sutter. "Patients who live in Basel, who cannot be helped at home and who cannot travel to Zurich would have a place where they can die."
Exit helps the vast majority of patients at their homes and the assisted suicide room is for people who do not have their own bed to die in.
In March, Exit said its membership reached a record high last year after a 20 percent surge in requests to join.
Assisted suicide has been legal in Switzerland since the 1940s, if performed by someone with no direct interest in the death.
A rise in the number of foreigners seeking assisted suicides in Switzerland has provoked heated debate in the country.
In 2011, voters in the canton of Zurich rejected a proposed ban on assisted suicide and "suicide tourism". A year later, the national parliament voted against tightening controls on the practice.

Ann Coulter’s Controversial ‘Bet’ About Mexicans, the Islamic State and Sharks

It’s even money that she’s absolutely right.

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter once again addressed illegal immigration on Sunday, proclaiming that she believes more Americans were likely killed at the end of the weekend “by Mexicans than by ISIS or by sharks.”
“Going into this weekend, the media was consumed with stories about, you know, ‘Americans have to be on the lookout for ISIS attacks’ and, ‘Terror attack expected’ — and, ‘Ooh, shark attacks!” Coulter said on “Fox & Friends.” “I will bet you by the end of the weekend, more Americans will have been killed by Mexicans than by ISIS or by sharks.”
She also specifically addressed the shooting death of Kathryn Steinle last week in San Francisco at the hands of an alleged illegal immigrant who had been deported five times, saying that she believes the story is getting more attention than many other crimes involving illegals.
“Usually it is completely buried,” Coulter said. “I would say this story is getting more coverage than immigrants killing Americans’ usually do, because this happened some place liberals might go.”

Clear enough?

CLEAR ENOUGH?

The evening that the Supreme Court allowed gay marriages to be treated the same as heterosexual marriages was a victory for the militant in your face LGBT.  The white house was lit up with the rainbow colors of the LGBT.  On the anniversary of our country's founding,  July 4th this year there was no lighting of the white house in red, white, and blue.  What does that tell you about the current occupant?

U.S. Military Makes Monumental Shift To Hollowpoint Pistol Ammunition

In a significant doctrinal shift, the U.S. military is relegating full metal jacketed (FMJ) pistol bullets to a training role, and will be adopting modern hollowpoint designs similar to those used by most domestic law enforcement agencies and citizens who carry handguns for self-defense.
The stunning announcement was made at the U.S Army’s Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey yesterday during the military’s two-day “industry day” for the Modular Handgun System (MHS), which will conclude today.
A military lawyer who made a presentation during the Industry Day noted that the United States is not a signatory to the Hague Conventions which outlawed the use of “dum-dum” and expanding bullets more than a century ago. It is the military’s position that the shift to jacketed hollowpoint (JHP) ammunition, which more efficiently transfers energy to the target and which presents much less of a risk of over-penetration, is more humane and less of a risk to innocent civilians downrange in modern combat where there are often no clear front lines.
The MHS contract is still caliber agnostic, with the primary requirement being that the adopted cartridge must perform 10% better than currently issued M882 (9mm NATO, 124-grain FMJ) with both the FMJ training ammunition and the hollowpoint ammunition issued for deployment.
Both the FMJ and JHP must perform similarly so that the training and combat ammunition has the same recoil impulses and performance parameters.
A lot of conventional wisdom suggests that the 9MM and .45 ACP are the top two contenders for the MHS contract.
The big selling point for .45 ACP in the past century was always that it was a slightly larger bullet than the 9mm, and that it performed somewhat better when both calibers were using FMJ bullets. In addition, the military has also already used .45 ACP hollowpoints in combat handguns in Afghanistan and Iraq among special operations units fighting unlawful combatants. It has not (officially) used them against other nation-states in military-on-military combat.
Now that JHPs are going to be used as general issue, the playing field tilts back strongly in favor of 9mm.
I strongly suspect that the Army has already taken a long and hard look at the data produced by the Federal Bureau of Investigation when they recently investigated switching handgun calibers, an investigation that led the agency to abandon the .40 S&W in favor of the 9mm. The FBI discovered that 9mm outperforms both .40 S&W and .45 ACP when using premium hollowpoints, while having less perceived recoil and much greater ammunition capacity.
I would not be surprised at all if the full-size variant of the pistol that eventually wins the contract has a magazine capacity of 17-20 rounds.
During testing, MHS candidate pistols will feed at least 35,000 rounds of JHP  to ensure reliable feeding.

What does the Greek vote mean for the U.S.?

Nobody really knows what will happen since nothing exactly like this has ever happened before.
The immediate effects in the United States of the "no" vote cast by Greek voters in the referendum on the EU bailout will likely be limited – at first.
American banks hold little Greek debt, so the contagion of a Greek exit from the euro would be negligible.  But the Dow Jones could be in for a very rough ride, as overseas markets are sharply lower today as a result of the vote.
Politically, it's a loss for the Obama administration, who supported the far-left Greek government's demands for debt relief and easier terms.  The president made no friends in the rest of Europe by advocating this path, and because of that, the U.S. is a non-player in the crisis.
Some other potential effects in the U.S. as a result of the crisis:
The vote sets up a fresh problem for President Barack Obama, whose administration has gently pushed creditors to ease some of their demands, without any success. Obama angered the Germans and other creditors when he said in February that “you cannot keep on squeezing countries in recession.”
Since then, statements on the Greek talks from Obama and Treasury Secretary Jack Lew have been more muted, focusing on getting negotiators back to the table to hammer out an agreement.
And while the White House is sympathetic to Greece’s calls for easier terms, the main objective in the administration is to make sure some kind of deal is made to avoid a Greek exit. The vote likely makes that goal significantly harder to achieve, making it a negative for the White House.
A Greek exit from the euro could also complicate the campaign of Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, who is counting on a strong U.S. economy helping her party hold onto the White House.
Without further bailout assistance, Greece is likely to be unable to repay a $3.9 billion bond held by the ECB. That payment is due July 20, and if Greece fails to pay it will be officially in default, which could lead to the collapse of its banking system and essentially force the country out of the eurozone.
There is no precedent for a country leaving the common currency. And if Greece goes, interest on bonds of other weaker eurozone nations such as Italy and Spain could soar, pushing those countries back into financial crisis and possibly forcing them out of the monetary union as well. That could in turn roil global markets, send Europe into broader recession and drive down investor and consumer confidence in the U.S.
A weak U.S. stock market could have an impact on the sluggish economy, stunting growth even more and weakening the "recovery" – if that's possible.  Unless there is a problem with contagion – banks in Spain, Italy, and Portugal being severely stresssed as a result of skyrocketing borrowing costs – a Greek exit is not likely to push the U.S. into recession again.  But we're all in uncharted territory, and the psyche of the market is unknowable.  A panic could rock the world economy as seriously as the 2008 meltdown.  This is not expected, but who knows?
Fasten your seat belts.  The road ahead is going to be bumpy.

Donald Trump Gains Infamy in Mexico for Comments on Immigrants

What a bunch of soreheads! The Truth hurts doesn’t it? Did you ever notice how angry and hostile a lot of people get when they get called out for doing something they know is wrong?  The fact is Mexico IS NOT sending its best people here. Instead we are getting Mexico’s criminals and paupers, people who are much more of a burden than they are a help to our society. Ask yourself, would an educated, law-abiding person who has a good paying job in Mexico walk across miles of  desert to sneak into America? The Mexican government really needs illegal immigration into the USA as a safety valve and as a source of money. Otherwise they would be forced to fix things in their own country. Go Donald- Tell Truth to Leftist Power!

MEXICO CITY — It is the kind of publicity money cannot buy — front-page coverage, segments on the nightly news, the attention of political heavyweights and a stream of commentary burning a hole in the web.
But Donald J. Trump, champion of the so-called birther movement that wrongly questioned President Obama’s birthplace, owner of the Miss Universe contest and developer of hotels bearing his name the world over, has not only found fame in the United States, where he is running for president.
He has also found it in Mexico — or infamy, anyway.
“He’s just ignorant,” said Ricardo Arevala, 18, who works at a piñata shop here, adding that someone recently came into the store looking for a smackable rendition of Mr. Trump. “He speaks in stereotypes.”
While announcing his candidacy to be America’s next president last month, Mr. Trump delivered remarks that ended up echoing across Mexico.
“They are bringing drugs. They are bringing crime. They’re rapists,” Mr. Trump said about Mexican immigrants, adding, “some, I assume, are good people.”
While most presidential candidates are positioning themselves to court the Latino vote, Mr. Trump ignited a firestorm with his statement, managing to galvanize the disparate populations of Mexico, both social and political.
A host of Mexican political notables have lashed out at the remarks, including former President Felipe Calderón.
A company controlled by Carlos Slim, the Mexican telecom magnate — who is much, much richer than Mr. Trump, many Mexicans are quick to point out — cut ties on a joint project with him.

Germany Stays Tough on Greek Debt Relief

Oh those Germans. Like Brit Hume of Fox news opined, they have this quaint notion that when people borrow money they ought to pay it back. But the way the Greeks see it, the money that German tax payers have been sending to Greece for all these years to enable Greeks to live far above their means are reparations for all the oppression and atrocities the Germans perpetrated in Greece during World War II, not a loan. So there! The Greeks are not going to accept any cuts to their benefits or give up the life style to which they have become accustomed.  Looks like we have irreconcilable differences here.

Store Owner Repels Smash and Grab with Gunfire - Gun Watch

MILWAUKEE — Three young men drive a stolen van into the Bouchard’s store on Martin Luther King Dr. around 4 a.m. on Friday, June 3rd during an attempted burglary — and one ends up shot.

Even though it happened several hours ago, a lot has already been cleaned up but the damage is still obvious.

Taking a closer look, you can see the brick crumbling from where the van crashed into the building. If you look close enough, you can even see a bullet hole or two.

Myanmar fisherman goes home after 22 years as a slave

They worked him like a Burmese slave…

TUAL, Indonesia — All he did was ask to go home.
The last time the Burmese slave made the same request, he was beaten almost to death. But after being gone eight years and forced to work on a boat in faraway Indonesia, Myint Naing was willing to risk everything to see his mother again. His nights were filled with dreams of her, and time was slowly stealing her face from his memory.
So he threw himself on the ground and roped his arms around the captain's legs to beg for freedom.
The Thai skipper barked loud enough for all to hear that Myint would be killed for trying to abandon ship. Then he flung the fisherman onto the deck and chained down his arms and legs.
Myint was left for three days to burn in the searing sun and shiver in the nighttime rain, without food or water. He wondered how he would be killed. Would they throw his body overboard to wash up on shore, like the other corpses he'd seen? Would they shoot him? Or would they simply bash his head open, as they had done before?
He was never going to see his mother again. He would simply disappear, and she wouldn't even know where to look.
______
Every year, thousands of migrant workers like Myint are tricked or sold into the seafood industry's gritty underworld. It's a brutal trade that has operated for decades as an open secret in Southeast Asia's waters, where unscrupulous companies rely on slaves to supply fish to major supermarkets and stores worldwide.
As part of a year-long investigation into the multibillion-dollar business, The Associated Press interviewed more than 340 current and former slaves, in person or in writing. The stories told by one after another are strikingly similar.

Man arrested in connection with San Francisco killing had been deported several times, officials say

The man arrested in connection with the seemingly random killing of a woman who was out for a stroll with her father along the San Francisco waterfront is an illegal immigrant who previously had been deported five times, federal immigration officials say.
Further, Immigration and Customs Enforcement says San Francisco had him in their custody earlier this year but failed to notify ICE when he was released.
"DHS records indicate ICE lodged an immigration detainer on the subject at that time, requesting notification prior to his release so ICE officers could make arrangements to take custody. The detainer was not honored," ICE said in a statement Fridayafternoon.
Kathryn Steinle was killed Wednesday evening at Pier 14 -- one of the busiest tourist destinations in the city.
Police said Thursday they arrested Francisco Sanchez in the shooting an hour after it occurred.
On Friday, ICE revealed their records indicate the individual has been previously deported five times, most recently in 2009, and is from Mexico.

14 dead in S. African province after botched circumcisions

The war against men

Traditional circumcision ceremonies in South Africa's Eastern Cape province, where the rite-of-passage practice is common, have left 14 boys dead and 141 injured this year, local authorities said Sunday.
Many of the injured teens suffered from "dehydration, wounds, pneumonia, aseptic penis and gangrene" Sizwe Kupelo, spokesman for the health ministry in the Eastern Cape province told AFP.
"Fourteen died and 141 are in various hospitals," he said.
Nine patients are waiting for a penis transplant -- a procedure requested more and more after the first successful transplant was performed in the country last year on another botched circumcision victim.
The rite of passage into adulthood, which usually follows a bush retreat of two to four weeks, is also a show of physical endurance.
For the ceremony, the teens gamble their lives. Each year teenaged boys die or are mutilated during the initiation.
"A death is always one too many," said Mamkeli Ngam, spokesman for the cooperative governance and traditional affairs minister in Eastern Cape, the home province of Nelson Mandela.
Ngam also said that several initiation schools had already been shut down.
According to media reports, 41,000 young men of the Eastern Cape -- one of the most affected provinces in South Africa -- completed the initiation last year.
Circumcision in the country can be lucrative, bringing in around 1,500 rand (110 euros, $120) per initiation, but the boys do not benefit from the profit. They are often treated harshly and receive little to no food.
In June, South African police rescued 11 teenage boys from forced circumcision after their parents reported that they had been taken from the street to participate in the initiation.

Fires at black churches do not appear to be linked, racially motivated: ATF

But this won’t matter to the Leftist Social Justice Warriors. They will exploit the hysteria and paranoia inspired by these burning to the hilt and blame it on “white racist organizations”. Never pass up a crisis after all. And of course no can understand what kind of lunacy or depravity would motivate anyone to set fire to a church, a house dedicated to God, so such events tend to inspire all kinds of conspiracy theories, when most of the time it is the work a lone criminal nut case.

Nearly 1,800 church fires occur every year–almost five per day; though that figure includes churches of all ethnicities–among the 300,000 structure fires in the U.S., said John Lentini, president of Scientific Fire Analysis LLC, who has conducted thousands of fire-scene inspections.
According to a 2013 estimate by the National Fire Protection Association, about one-sixth of all fires at churches and other religious buildings turn out to be arson. And a task force established by President Clinton in the 1990s noted that about one-third of the attacks on black churches resulted in arrests of black people and the motives of arsonists and bombers of all ethnicities varied and often weren’t race-related–vandalism, burglary, cover-up and personal grudges, for example.

Trump Is Right About Mexican Illegals Committing Crimes

The truth hurts. The Leftists care more about criminals from another country than they do about the safety of American citizens. Why is that?

We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men." – George OrwellDespite all the gnashing of teeth from the Left over Donald Trump’s comments about illegal aliens and liberals’ deliberate attempts to distort what he said, his controversial comments about Mexico are absolutely correct.
"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. …They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems to us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."
Despite attempts to take his comments out of context, Donald Trump was clearly talking about illegal immigration. So, if you want to say, “My grandfather came here legally from Mexico….” or “I know a legal Mexican immigrant who serves in the military,” it has nothing to do with what Trump said. Even when it comes to illegals, Trump noted that some of them are “good people.”
So what’s really upsetting people on the Left is Trump’s assertion that Mexican illegal aliens are committing a substantial amount of crime in America. That is inarguably true.
* “Thanks to the Supreme Court ruling Zadvydas v. Davis (2001), the U.S. has become a dumping ground for Third World rapists. Aliens convicted of violent crimes can’t be held for more than six months if their home country…doesn’t want to take them back. The ruling unleashed 134,000 aliens onto American streets in only three years.
Executive associate director of enforcement and removal operations at ICE Gary Mead told a House Congressional Subcommittee in 2011 that the released aliens went to commit a wave of crimes ‘including, but not limited to, arson, assault, property damage, extortion, forgery or fraud, homicide, kidnapping, weapons offenses, embezzlement, controlled substance offenses, and sexual offenses.’ Released illegals also shot a New York state trooper and a Ft. Meyer cop who had a wife and three children.”
* “However, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Robert Goodlatte today released data…(that) showed that deportations as well as arrests of criminal aliens dropped about 30 percent during the first six months of this fiscal year. Moreover, the 30,558 criminal aliens that ICE released back on the streets in 2014 garnered almost 80,000 convictions. These included 250 homicides, 186 kidnappings, 373 sexual assaults, 13,636 convictions for driving under the influence, 1,589 weapons offenses, 994 aggravated assaults, 56 arsons and 31 smuggling offenses.”
* “The 287(g) program and related efforts have found high rates of illegal alien incarceration in some communities. But it is unclear if the communities are representative of the country:
Maricopa County, Ariz.: 22 percent of felons are illegal aliens;
Lake County, Ill.: 19 percent of jail inmates are illegal aliens;
Collier County, Fla.: 20 to 22 percent of jail inmates and arrestees are illegal aliens;
Weld County, Colo.: 12.8 to 15.2 percent of those jailed are illegal aliens.”
* “From 1998 to 2007, 816,000 criminal aliens were removed from the United States because of a criminal charge or conviction. This is equal to about one-fifth of the nation’s total jail and prison population. These figures do not include those removed for the lesser offense of living or working in the country illegally. The removal and deportation of large numbers of criminal aliens may reduce immigrant incarceration rates because many will not return and re-offend, as is the case with many native-born criminals.”
* “The number of criminal aliens in federal prisons in fiscal year 2010 was about 55,000, and the number of SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails was about 296,000 in fiscal year 2009 (the most recent data available), and the majority were from Mexico. The number of criminal aliens in federal prisons increased about 7 percent from about 51,000 in fiscal year 2005 while the number of SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails increased about 35 percent from about 220,000 in fiscal year 2003. The time period covered by these data vary because they reflect updates since GAO last reported on these issues in 2005. Specifically, in 2005, GAO reported that the percentage of criminal aliens in federal prisons was about 27 percent of the total inmate population from 2001 through 2004.” – The U.S. Government Accountability Office
After seeing those staggering numbers, it’s worth remembering that none of these people are supposed to be in our country in the first place. So, every American who is robbed, raped, assaulted or murdered by an illegal alien is an unnecessary victim. No wonder liberals are so desperate to get Trump to stop talking about how many Americans are being hurt by their refusal to secure the border.

Not Everyone Likes the Fourth of July-Themed Al Jazeera Video that Mocks Americans as Fat, Gun-Toting Racists

Yeah Al Jazeera is right. America is totally messed up and stupid. So why is it then that so many people from other countries want to sneak into it? It seems that especially people from Muslim countries want to emigrate to America. I guess being made to beat your face on the ground five times a day whether you want to or not isn’t such a much after all.

Home Invasion Survivor: “Guns Saved My Life.”

Eighteen years ago,  Mike and Susan Gonzalez were both shot during a home invasion. During a struggle with their attackers, the injured woman grabbed her husband’s pistol and opened fire.
Her husband was shot as he struggled with one of the attackers. Gonzalez said she saw an opportunity to reach for her husband’s pistol and she went for it. She said she pointed the gun at one of the suspects and squeezed the trigger.
“I just opened fire in his back,” she said.
The wounded suspect died in the couple’s front yard. The other suspect took the keys to their truck and got away, but he was later captured.
Susan, 56, said what happened that hot August night has changed her views completely on guns.
“A lot of people are against guns because they say guns kill, ” said Gonzalez. “Guns saved my life and I was against guns. I now carry.”
She has a concealed weapons permit and said she practices on a regular basis.
“What happened to us, I would never in a million years would have dreamed it would happen to us,’ she said.
Susan’s change of heart is hardly unique. Many people who were against firearms ownership have changed their minds after either experiencing or witnessing violent crime. It’s a very intelligent decision, spurred by a life-altering experience that showed them just how unpredictable and violent other people can be, and just how fragile their own lives can be.
Guns save lives.

Man Killed in First Fatal Texas Alligator Attack in Two Centuries

A 28-year-old Texas man perished early on Friday morning after an alligator bit him in a bayou, reports CBS News. The man had been swimming in Burkart’s Marina in the southeast Texas town of Orange, near the border with Louisiana, around 2:30 a.m. on Friday. He was then attacked by a massive alligator shortly after jumping in, according to witness reports.
Two hours after the incident, the Texas game warden, sheriff’s deputies in tow, found his body not far from where he was attacked. The man has not yet been identified.
Authorities have said that the man wasn’t alone and that he was swimming with a woman. According to KFDM News, she jumped in after hearing his pleas for help from the dock. She felt something brush against her—likely the gator’s tail—but wasn’t hurt.
The pair had been seen at the marina bar beforehand, according to witnesses. The man took off his shoes and shirt, even after he had been warned him not to jump in.
This marks the first fatal alligator accident in Texas State Game Warden Mike Boone could recall, reports KFDM. According to The Houston Chronicle, this gator attack marks the first one in two centuries. The area is marked by signs reading ‘No Swimming: Alligators.’

‘Go Back to Europe!’: Chaos Erupts at Ann Coulter Book Signing As Protesters Scream, Rip Up Her Book

“The Democrats do not win by defeating us in policy arena debates . The Democrats win by character assassination that is facilitated by their willing accomplaces in the media.” - Rush Limbaugh.
Immigration activists disrupted an Ann Coulter book signing Wednesday, ripping up at least one copy of her latest bestseller and shouting for her to “go back to Europe!”
“Two, four, six, eight, we don’t need your racist hate!” activists chanted at the Costa Mesa, California, Barnes and Nobles.
One activist wrote a column explaining how he waited in line to confront the controversial conservative pundit.
“This isn’t a question and answer session,” the individual said Coulter told him.
Shortly after, the activist wrote that security arrived and escorted him out. As he left the bookstore, he gave his signed copy of “Adios, America!” to protesters who “proceeded to rip pages from it, littering the floor in front of the bookstore with Coulter confetti.”
As supporters of the pundit left the bookstore, activists shouted “shame on you” toward them.
Coulter shot back at protesters Thursday in a statement to a conservative blog.
“You have to understand,” Coulter told the website, “Screaming and defacing things is how Latin Americans express disagreement.”
“At least as long as they were destroying books and screaming in a book store, they weren’t molesting any 4-year-olds,” she added.

Poll: Majority sees Confederate flag as Southern pride symbol, not racist

With malice toward none, with charity for all, ...let us strive on to finish the work we are in, ...to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.
Abraham Lincoln, Second Inaugural Address, Mar. 4, 1865

Yeah it’s about heritage not hate. It’s about reconciliation with our fellow countrymen, like President Lincoln said. Must we keep reminding the South that they got beat? Keep rubbing their collective noses in their defeat?  How will that unify the country and heal the old wounds? The war is long over; slavery was abolished and the country reunified. Republicans fought against the stars and bars and Democrats fought for it. Yet the Democrats get to blame the racism of the Confederacy on the Republican party now. What's up with that? Plus the “Confederate Flag” with the crossed stars and bars that people are referring to is the Battle Flag of The Army of Northern Virginia, General Robert E. Lee’s outfit, not the National Flag of the Confederate States of America. So it represents the fighting men of the South and not the Confederate government. You can admire the skill and valor of the Confederate soldiers while still vehemently opposing the cause for which they fought.

Washington (CNN)American public opinion on the Confederate flag remains about where it was 15 years ago, with most describing the flag as a symbol of Southern pride more than one of racism, according to a new CNN/ORC poll. And questions about how far to go to remove references to the Confederacy from public life prompt broad racial divides.
The poll shows that 57% of Americans see the flag more as a symbol of Southern pride than as a symbol of racism, about the same as in 2000 when 59% said they viewed it as a symbol of pride. Opinions of the flag are sharply divided by race, and among whites, views are split by education.
Among African-Americans, 72% see the Confederate flag as a symbol of racism, just 25% of whites agree. In the South, the racial divide is even broader. While 75% of Southern whites describe the flag as a symbol of pride and 18% call it a symbol of racism, those figures are almost exactly reversed among Southern African-Americans, with just 11% seeing it as a sign of pride and 75% viewing it as a symbol of racism.
Among whites, there's a sharp divide by education, and those with more formal education are less apt to see the flag as a symbol of pride. Among whites with a college degree, 51% say it's a symbol of pride, 41% one of racism. Among those whites who do not have a college degree, 73% say it's a sign of Southern pride, 18% racism.

Huge Piece of WWII Weaponry Discovered Beneath German Man’s Villa

German police searched a Heikendorf villa just off the Baltic Sea in Germany and discovered a cache of historic military items, including a WWII-era tank in the elderly man’s basement.
According to the German newspaper Der Spiegel (translated via Google Translate), the man had previously been investigated for Nazi art. This time though, authorities found a 45-ton Panther tank, flak cannon, torpedo and other WWII military weapons on the 78-year-old man’s property.
Kiel prosecutor Birgit Hess said the collector, whose name she would not release for privacy reasons, is being investigated for possibly violating German weapons laws but at this time remains free while the probe is ongoing.
The man’s attorney Peter Gramsch told Der Spiegel that the weapons were demilitarized and could not fire, thus they should not be considered a violation of the War Weapons Control Act.
Hess said that she did not know whether the main gun on the tank could fire, but it didn’t appear to be properly registered and an independent expert said it wasn’t properly demilitarized.
During the earlier investigation into Nazi-era art in May, authorities found two massive bronze horse statues that once stood in front of Adolf Hitler’s chancellery. Those were in the possession of another man, who maintains he is the rightful owner.
The tank owner has made no secret of his collection, openly talking about the Panther and other items in media reports following the May revelation of the art investigation.
The town’s mayor noted that the owner even drove the tank around decades ago. His neighbor Kristin Schroeder told the local Kieler Nachrichten newspaper a similar story, saying that in the 1970s he used it to help plow snow.
“It was well known, at least to all the older Kitzebergers, that he had a tank,” Schroeder said.
NDR (translated via Google Translate) reported that the man’s property is rather reclusive, located off a private road with a concrete wall and barbed wire protecting it from beach access.
According to the news website, it took about nine hours for a crew to remove the tank from the property Thursday. Watch video of the tanks removal on NDR’s website here.
“He has a certain fondness for certain things,” mayor Alexander Orth told Der Spiegel of the man’s unusual collection.

FL: Home invasion survivor: I was against guns, now I carry

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Nearly eighteen years ago, Mike and Susan Gonzalez had a life changing experience.
"August will be 18 years and I still live with it everyday," said Susan.
Her home now has burglar bars and there are no trespassing signs posted on her North Jacksonville property.
It was around 12:40 a.m. when she heard a rustling sound at the front door. Gonzalez said she left the couch to unlock the front door for her son when someone kicked the door in.
"It came off the hinges and I took off running and screaming," she recalled. "My husband was asleep in the bedroom."
Two masked men had invaded her home. Susan was shot.
"I kind of knew I was dying, so I was making my peace with God," she said.
Her husband was shot as he struggled with one of the attackers. Gonzalez said she saw an opportunity to reach for her husband's pistol and she went for it. She said she pointed the gun at one of the suspects and squeezed the trigger.
"I just opened fire in his back," she said.
The wounded suspect died in the couple's front yard. The other suspect took the keys to their truck and got away, but he was later captured.
Susan, 56, said what happened that hot August night has changed her views completely on guns.
"A lot of people are against guns because they say guns kill, " said Gonzalez. "Guns saved my life and I was against guns. I now carry."
She has a concealed weapons permit and said she practices on a regular basis.
"What happened to us, I would never in a million years would have dreamed it would happen to us,' she said.
Gonzalez turned the tables on her attacker and lived to talk about it.
On July 6, her story is being featured in the Discovery Channel's "OVER MY DEAD BODY" series.
She hopes it will encourage others to protect themselves.
"I can only hope that another woman or even man will take a look and realize there's a reason to have guns for safety," she said.
She said many have criticized her for shooting the suspect, but she said what she did was to save her family.
"Anyone that is a victim never expects to be a victim," said Gonzalez. "You should be prepared."

Job market's new normal: Smaller workforce, sluggish pay

New Normal? BS! After seven years we’re still in a never-ending recession with no real growth to the national economy . The Media is just concocting excuses to cover for the Obama Administration’s chronic mismanagement of economic incentives and over-regulation of business. The Fed’s QE was the only thing keeping the GDP from staying negative for all this time. We all know that if a Republican administration were in charge we would be bombarded daily with stories about awful the economy is and how we never really recovered from the crash of 2008. Because we didn’t.

WASHINGTON — Even after another month of strong hiring in June and a sinking unemployment rate, the U.S. job market just isn't what it used to be.

Pay is sluggish. Many part-timers can't find full-time work. And a diminished share of Americans either have a job or are looking for one.
Yet in the face of global and demographic shifts, this may be what a nearly healthy U.S. job market now looks like.
An aging population is sending an outsize proportion of Americans into retirement. Many younger adults, bruised by the Great Recession, are postponing work to remain in school to try to become more marketable. Global competition and the increasing automation of many jobs are holding down pay.
Many economists think these trends will persist for years despite steady job growth. It helps explain why the Federal Reserve is widely expected to start raising interest rates from record lows later this year even though many job measures remain far below their pre-recession peaks.
"The Fed may recognize that this is a new labor-market normal, and it will begin to normalize monetary policy," said Patrick O'Keefe, an economist at accounting and consulting firm CohnReznick.
Thursday's monthly jobs report from the government showed that employers added a solid 223,000 jobs in June and that the unemployment rate fell to 5.3 percent from 5.5 percent in May. Even so, the generally improving job market still bears traits that have long been regarded as weaknesses. Among them:
A shrunken labor force.
