74 children executed by ISIS for 'crimes' that include refusal to fast, report says

The blood-soaked executioners of ISIS have spared neither women nor children since the jihadist army established its caliphate a year ago, putting an estimated 74 kids and even more women to death for such offenses as practicing “magic” and refusing to fast during Ramadan.
A total of 3,027 people have been executed by ISIS since it declared itself a state under strict Islamic law in Syria and Iraq last June, according to a new report by the UK-based group, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
"Many of the charges against those executed are recorded as blasphemy and spying, but others include sorcery, sodomy, practicing as a Shia Muslim," the report states.

- New report on ISIS brutality
Just this week, two children whose ages were not known were crucified in the Mayadin, Deir Ezzor province in eastern Syria after ISIS accused them of not properly fasting during Ramadan. The children’s bodies, put on public display on crossbars, each bore a sign explaining their violation during the holy month for Muslims that runs June 17 to July 17. With each execution justified by ISIS' medieval interpretation of the Koran, the group is attempting to portray itself as the true practitioners of Islam, say experts.
“Underlying all these executions is the apocalypse ideology of the final battle between the believers and the unbelievers,” said Jasmine Opperman, the director of Southern Africa Operations at the Terrorism, Research & Analysis Consortium. “ISIS is using executions to show its followers -- and would-be followers -- that the group is the only true representative of believers, not only in word, but action, which is why executions are featured so prominently.”

Other children died fighting for their lives.

Terror Suspect Arrested In NJ; NYPD On High Alert For July 4 Fireworks

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Another suspected member of a reportedly ISIS radicalized terror cell was arrested in New Jersey Monday, as the metropolitan area goes on hyper-alert for the threat of an attack during the Fourth of July holiday.
As CBS2 Political Reporter Marcia Kramer reported Monday, experts said they think the terror threats are very real, because ISIS is actively trying to radicalize people in the Tri-State Area.
Among those radicalized people, according to authorities, was Alaa Saadeh – the 23-year-old West New York, New Jersey man arrested Monday. He was believed to be part of a group interested in detonating a pressure cooker bomb at a New York landmark.

Authorities charged Saadeh with conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State militant organization and witness tampering. They said he tried to persuade a witness to lie to the FBI.

Young People Unsure How to React When They Learn This Clinton Fact: ‘You’re Changing My Opinion’

Yes, you silly Millennials, even though they bash the “greedy rich” and purport to be champions of the little guy, the Clintons themselves are fabulously wealthy, greedy rich one per-centers. Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!

When Campus Reform correspondent Cabot Phillips quizzed young people on the lavish “cribs” of 2016 presidential candidates outside the White House, he got a variety of guesses — from Marco Rubio to Ben Carson and even Donald Trump.
What the respondents didn’t realize was each of the four multi-million dollar homes featured in the quiz — valued as high as $13 million — once belonged to Hillary Clinton.
“What?!” one women responded after learning the truth.
“What, really? You’re pulling my leg,” another man said.
Another female told the correspondent, “You’re changing my opinion on the election a little bit.”

Dissolving America

Although we take our nation-state for granted, it is good to remember that a nation-state is not an organic creature.  It does not form naturally from its constituent parts.  A nation-state is very much a mass fiction, held together largely by a history, a language, a set of values, a religion, a common project, an economic system, a cultural heritage, a political arrangement, and a shared regard among its members.  The Southern states whose leaders and symbols are now roundly despised seceded from the still fledgling American nation-state not one hundred years after its birth.  But those Southern states had more in common with the North than any of us have in common with one another now.  The nation-state forged in civil war is crumbling around us in pre-civilizational recrudescence.

ISIS Attacks in America Are Coming

Perhaps a nation that recognizes homosexual marriage is spurring them on.

By its own depraved standards, last Thursday and Friday were gruesomely successful days for ISIS. On Thursday, a suicide squad of ISIS fighters infiltrated Kobani, the Syrian town it had previously lost to Kurdish militia, and killed 145 residents. Then, on Friday, ISIS was linked to two massacres at different ends of the Middle East: in Tunisia a gunman armed with an Ak-47 killed at least 47 vacationers at a beach resort, while in Kuwait a suicide bomber killed at least 24 Shiites at a mosque. ISIS may also be connected to the French Muslim attacker who beheaded the manager of an American-owned chemical plant in France and tried to blow up the entire facility. All this only a few days after ISIS released another of its patented snuff films showing prisoners being drowned alive in a cage.
The exact connections between ISIS and the foreign attacks remains to be determined but the fact that ISIS claimed credit for the Kuwait and Tunisia attacks suggests that it is expanding its attention, from Syria and Iraq toward a more international wave of terror designed to better compete with Al Qaeda, which has long been focused on the “far enemy” (i.e., the U.S. and its allies). Already ISIS sympathizers have been linked to attacks in the U.S. such as the thwarted attempt to shoot up an exhibition of Mohammad cartoons in Texas. It’s a safe bet that the U.S. will not be exempt from ISIS’ growing foreign focus, and that some future attacks will succeed.
How should the U.S. respond? There will be calls, of course, for greater international cooperation against the ISIS threat, and that’s fine as far as it goes. But no amount of international policing can stop every nutcase who, inspired by ISIS’s example, decides to kill some of his neighbors. There is only one way to dispel the appeal of ISIS, and that is to destroy its self-styled caliphate. Even suicide bombers are reluctant to fight in a losing cause. ISIS has been so appealing of late, especially to foreigners (more than 1,000 of whom flock to join its ranks every month), precisely because it has been so successful.
But dispelling that aura of success will require doing a heck of a lot more than the U.S. is doing at present. Michele Flournoy, a former under secretary of defense in the Obama administration, has just co-authored an op-ed with Richard Fontaine, president of the Center for a New American Security, which offers some sensible suggestions. They suggest, among other steps, providing arms directly to Sunni tribes and the Kurdish peshmerga, without channeling all aid through Baghdad as the U.S. is now doing; allowing Special Operations Forces and forward air controllers to accompany Iraqi forces into battle, intensifying air strikes, and increasing support to the non-jihadist Syrian opposition.
These are all sensible ideas, which echo suggestions long put forward by many other analysts (including me). But they all have one thing in common: They haven’t been implemented by the Obama administration, because he is putting his non-interventionist ideology ahead of the need to destroy ISIS (a goal that Obama explicitly set for the U.S. armed forces).
I hope that President Obama pays greater attention to the advice offered by one of his own erstwhile high-level appointees than to the views of the rest of us, but I’m not terribly optimistic. Obama, despite sending 350 more personnel to Iraq recently, appears to be in a holding pattern with ISIS, doing some damage but not doing enough to defeat it. That’s a recipe for disaster because as long as ISIS appears secure in its caliphate it will be free to extend its international reign of terror.

Police shooting Video, Palestine, TX - Gun Watch

Dramatic video. A case of suicide by cop. Apparently another case where a chronic trouble maker who was “trying to turn his life around” inexplicably provoked the police into shooting him dead. Since the late lamented suspect was white, there will probably not be any appreciable “public outrage” over the incident.

"Footage taken from the bodycam of Palestine Police Sgt. Gabriel Green during the shooting of James Bushey on May 31, 2015. This footage may be disturbing for some viewers. Discretion is advised."

In the video, you see the suspect draw a gun, flee, then turn toward the police, gun in hand.

Later, it was determined that it was a realistic looking BB gun.  No one will ever know for certain why the suspect,  47 year old James D. Bushey, decided to draw the gun, then run, then turn toward the police.   As he was accused of stealing beer, perhaps he was drunk.

His brother said that he was "trying to turn his life around".

The Marine Hitchhikers- U.S. Marines Plan to Hire Foreign Vessels for Transport

Early in 2012, Barack Obama promised that a U.S. military with a smaller budget would be an asset. “Our military will be leaner,” he said, “but the world must know — the United States is going to maintain our military superiority with armed forces that are agile, flexible and ready for the full range of contingencies and threats.” How’s that working out? Not so good. The U.S. Navy has shrunk so much that the Marines are looking at the possibility of using foreign vessels to deploy to Europe or Africa. Specifically, the Marines are communicating with Britain, Spain and Italy about the idea because so many of the ships the Navy does have are in the Pacific. According to former Navy Secretary Jim Webb, “Our Navy has gone from 568 ships when I was secretary of the Navy — and much more than that, actually, when I was commissioned — down to about in the 280s now.” It’s little wonder thatmilitary support for this commander in chief is so low. Obama has the military busy with leftist social engineering and Don Quixote-type missions against the weather while its equipment is no longer up to the real tasks at hand.

Artificial Intelligence Machine Gets Testy With Its Programmer

“Quit telling me what to do!”

Researchers have shown that machines are inching closer to self-learning, and perhaps even copping a little attitude.
Over at Google GOOGL -0.66%, a computer program using a database of movie scripts was asked again and again by researchers to define morality. It struggles to do so, and in a conversation recorded by its human engineers, becomes exasperated and ends the conversation by lashing out at its human inquisitor.
Here’s part of the exchange, as related in a paper presented this week:
Human: Tell me the definition of morality.
Machine: I don’t have ethics.
Human: Look, I need help; I need to know more about morality…
Machine: I don’t know what ethics is.
Human: Okay, I need to know how I should behave morally…
Machine: I don’t know how to tell you.
Human: Is morality and ethics the same?
Machine: Yes, sir.
Human: What are the things that I do to be immoral?
Machine: I don’t know.
Human: Give me some examples of moral actions…
Machine: I’m not a moralist.
Human: Alright, morality?
Machine: Integrity.
Human: What is integrity?
Machine: I’m sorry; I don’t know what else to say.
Human: Be moral!
Machine: Be a man!
Human: I really like our discussion on morality and ethics…
Machine: And how I’m not in the mood for a philosophical debate.
Human: What do you like to talk about?
Machine: Nothing.
The exchange sheds further light on the latest work carried out by large technology firms in the field of artificial intelligence, a booming field as data availability rises and computing costs plummet. This specific work is part of recent developments in what’s known as cognitive computing – teaching computers to mimic some of the ways a human brain works. Much work in this field is being done in natural language processing – taking text or speech as it spoken by humans or as it appears in books and documents and teaching machines to extract meaning and context from it. The Google app, Apple’s Siri and Microsoft’s Cortana personal assistants are all products of this natural language research.

Commie Pope

Is the Pope Catholic? Not so sure anymore.

Two years into his reign, Pope Francis has emerged as an extreme socialist obsessed with the usual phony leftist problems such as manmade global warming, American institutional racism, and income inequality.Muslims are indiscriminately slaughtering Christians around the world while Christianity itself seems on the verge of being eclipsed globally by Islam, but these things barely register with this pope.
This pseudo-intellectual pope keeps on spouting the same misanthropic Marxist platitudes as he hitches his papacy to global warming, the new international totalitarian cause. Sounding like Mao Zedong, Francis said a “bold cultural revolution” was needed to save the planet.
The pope ignores the keen insight of former Czech President Vaclav Klaus who likened environmentalists to watermelons: they are green on the outside and red on the inside. After the collapse of the Soviet Union leftists the world over migrated to the environmentalist movement and began regurgitating the party line, which is that human activity, and in particular, capitalism, is killing the planet. Mocking the Enlightenment, Francis accepts their unscientific drivel on faith and in the process transports the papacy back to the Dark Ages.
Christians and communists are the same, Francis maintains. Communists are closeted Christians who “have stolen our flag,” he says. Why the pope would want to be associated in any way with communists is unclear. He ought to know that it was V.I. Lenin who said, “The more representatives of the reactionary clergy we manage to shoot, the better.”
Lenin and his successors in the U.S.S.R. followed through. Priests, monks, and nuns were scalped, crucified, given Communion with molten lead, drowned, strangled, and thrown into cauldrons of boiling tar. In Republican Spain, nuns were raped before being shot, and people associated with the church were forced to swallow rosary beads, thrown down mine shafts, and made to dig their own graves before being buried alive in them.
Anyone with eyes knows that the proliferation of capitalism over the past two decades has lifted a billion people out of dire poverty — and in coming decades is projected to rescue another billion from pauperism — but Francis robotically slams global capitalism, or “globalization” as the Left calls it, foolishly blaming markets for poverty. Markets, not handouts, accomplish humanitarian feats that the Roman Catholic Church could never, ever hope to match.

Army Developing a Star Wars-like Hoverbike to Transport Soldiers

The U.S. Army is working on a futuristic “hoverbike” that could carry one to two soldiers up to ten feet off the ground at speeds around 60 miles per hour over land and water.
The Army Research Laboratory signed a contract nine months ago with SURVICE Engineering and Malloy Aeronautics to develop a hoverbike prototype for the Army to test in three to five years. SURVICE is based in Maryland and Malloy is based in Britain.
The two companies will first develop a commercial version of the hoverbike that can carry about 250 pounds and cost about $80,000 before the companies produce a military variant, said Mark Butkiewicz, SURVICE Engineering’s manager of applied technology. He explained that the Army would like the bike to carry about 400 to 800 pounds to allow soldiers to pack their weapons and equipment on board.
The Army said the hoverbike doesn’t necessarily need a soldier on board to steer as Timothy Vong, the project coordinator for the Army Research Laboratory, explained that the service wants the companies to develop manned and unmanned capabilities.
Butkiewicz compared the commercial and the military variants of the hoverbike to the differences between the Humvee and its commercial version, the Hummer. He didn’t want to give many more details of the requirements and details of the contract signed with the Army.
Vong said in an email to Military.com that the Army’s investment remains small in the project, but it could grow quickly if Malloy and SURVICE can continue to prove the technology. The Army is still in the initial research and development phase of the contract.
The hoverbike could potentially go faster and higher but the Army wants to make sure its safe for soldiers to ride and not drifting into a helicopter’s mission set. Butkiewicz said to think of the project in someways like a horse.
“If you fall off a horse you can get up and keep going. You can’t do that with a helicopter. That’s what we’re talking about here. Keeping it at about 10 feet off the ground, which in some ways is tougher to do,” Butkiewicz said.

What the media still won't report about minorities and pools --- but will about that now-unemployed McKinney cop

What the media still won't report about minorities and pools --- but will about that now-unemployed McKinney cop http://www.jewishworldreview.com/0615/colon061715.php3#954t27OzTaeVV9MB.99

There was probably no good reason that McKinney cop, Eric Casebolt, pulled out his weapon while subduing that 14 year bikini clad girl unless.....
The liberal media made sure that the video of Officer Casebolt went viral and the resulting hysteria in the press was expected. One of the most histrionic articles that brought a tear to my eyes (from laughing) was by Steven Thrasher's Black children are not even safe from police violence at a pool party
Can't really blame Mr. Trasher for believing all the misinformation being spewed out by the race demagogues about a pool party in Texas that went horribly wrong. He probably hasn't had much experience with these events that are automatically destined to go wrong whenever there's an open invite to a party. An excellent article in American Thinker, Black Mob Violence In Swimming Pools. A Long History by Colin Flaherty, offers several examples that make the McKinney incident quite minor in comparison as no one died.
I can offer even more from my own personal experience. I grew up in Spanish Harlem and the only pool nearby was the Jefferson pool located in a nearby project. Inevitably, fights would break out between the few Hispanics outnumbered by an unruly black crowd. This had nothing to do with race but was really just bad behavior.
When we first moved to Staten Island, the swimming pool near the Staten Island ferry, Lyons Pool, would be routinely overwhelmed by blacks from Brooklyn who would disobey pool rules and terrorize the families with young children, even urinating and defecating in the community pool. That problem was solved after a multi-million dollar renovation which requires registration via email for entry. Again this is not a race issue as those who utilize pool now are racially balanced by all who obey pool rules.
What exactly were the party organizers, 20 year-old Tatiana Rhodes and her mother thinking when they sent out online invites to a free Dime Piece Pool Party? Dime piece is urban lingo for a beautiful, hot girl. They had been promoting it for over a month in social media yet the pool belonged to a gated community which had strict rules about reserving parties which limited guests to 20. Neither Tatiana nor her mother applied for permission for this "pool party". The party escalated into a free-for-all brawl.
The lamestream media immediately went to McKinney, Texas to interview the organizer and any aggrieved parents whose child was abused by the 'racist' cops. One couple who appeared on Fox whined that Officer Casebolt had no right to pull a gun on unarmed teens. Perhaps they assumed Casebolt had eyes in the back of his head because he only pulled out his gun when he was rushed by two boys, men? After subduing the girl who refused to stand down. Clearly a video the MSM will not televise shows the officer being charged by two individuals who bolt when other officers arrive. Casebolt then holsters his weapon after he's assured of backup. He never pointed weapon at pool attendees.
Unfortunately at a police press conference, the hierarchy throws Office Casebolt under the bus by claiming he overreacted against police policy. I think he acted appropriately and rationally and don't blame him for resigning from the Mickey Mouse force that betrayed him.
Sadly efforts to fund his now dire situation were refused by PC funding sites like Crowdrise and Gofundme which nevertheless accepted pool activist Marvin Barkari request for funds. His page was taken down by Barkari himself after his real intentions were exposed by the best investigative resource available to us ---Conservativetreehouse.com and the intrepid Sundance.
Leave it to Sundance to actually go beyond the media hype to discover the truth about what has turned out to be not an innocent pool party but actually a business endeavor by promoters utilizing community property without permission.
Here's what he found:
In addition to friends of Tatiana Rhodes, more than 100 additional people, mostly teens, showed up as a result of the advertising promoted by Tatiana on social media. They were dropped off by the car-load as the afternoon party began. Apparently Tatiana and her mother Lashana were unable to control the growing crowd - who came to their event at the park looking for and expecting a "pool party". That's when things got out of control as the 100+ teens (and young adults) turned into a mob of partygoers and began jumping the fence to the gated pool area. Residents within the neighborhood found themselves confronting a mob of teens growing ever increasingly hostile and agitated.
There are numerous social media links reflecting that Tatiana organizes these "parties", and charges for attendance, as a profit generating business. Her enterprise name is promoted under the auspices of "Twinzzpromotions" and uses the email addresstwinnzzpromotions@gmail.com:
, Sundance posts the tweets of neighbors who actually live in the gated community and the media version which ignores them. Almost immediately, activists from Black Lives Matter were involved and further promote the incident as one of race rather than plain bad behavior. One reporter asked why the cops were only chasing the black kids and not the whites. The simple answer is they were the ones who ran away.
My husband who is very white grew up poorer than even I was in a Miami housing development with other poor whites. The police were frequently called to the area when kids were out of control. One of his friends who refused to listen to the order to stand down, ran away and was shot in the back. He was white and he survived and learned the basic lesson that when a cop tells you to stop---STOP.
Did Officer Casebolt overreact? No. Did the mainstream media deliberately turn the fracas into a front page racial incident? Of course. They also ignore the fact that there is a national war on cops which has killed more cops than any misbehaving teen at a pool party.
Blue Lives matter or anarchy reigns.

The Last Rebels: 25 Things We Did as Kids That Would Get Someone Arrested Today

Raise your hand if you survived a childhood in the 60s, 70s, and 80s that included one or more of the following, frowned-upon activities (raise both hands if you bear a scar proving your daredevil participation in these dare-devilish events):
  1. Riding in the back of an open pick-up truck with a bunch of other kids
  2. Leaving the house after breakfast and not returning until the streetlights came on, at which point, you raced home, ASAP so you didn’t get in trouble
  3. Eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the school cafeteria
  4. Riding your bike without a helmet
  5. Riding your bike with a buddy on the handlebars, and neither of you wearing helmets
  6. Drinking water from the hose in the yard
  7. Swimming in creeks, rivers, ponds, and lakes (or what they now call *cough* “wild swimming“)
  8. Climbing trees (One park cut the lower branches from a tree on the playground in case some stalwart child dared to climb them)
  9. Having snowball fights (and accidentally hitting someone you shouldn’t)
  10. Sledding without enough protective equipment to play a game in the NFL
  11. Carrying a pocket knife to school (or having a fishing tackle box with sharp things on school property)
  12. Camping
  13. Throwing rocks at snakes in the river
  14. Playing politically incorrect games like Cowboys and Indians
  15. Playing Cops and Robbers with *gasp* toy guns
  16. Pretending to shoot each other with sticks we imagined were guns
  17. Shooting an actual gun or a bow (with *gasp* sharp arrows) at a can on a log, accompanied by our parents who gave us pointers to improve our aim. Heck, there was even a marksmanship club at my high school
  18. Saying the words “gun” or “bang” or “pow pow” (there actually a freakin’CODE about “playing with invisible guns”)
  19. Working for your pocket money well before your teen years
  20. Taking that money to the store and buying as much penny candy as you could afford, then eating it in one sitting
  21. Eating pop rocks candy and drinking soda, just to prove we were exempt from that urban legend that said our stomachs would explode
  22. Getting so dirty that your mom washed you off with the hose in the yard before letting you come into the house to have a shower
  23. Writing lines for being a jerk at school, either on the board or on paper
  24. Playing “dangerous” games like dodgeball, kickball, tag, whiffle ball, and red rover (The Health Department of New York issued a warning about the “significant risk of injury” from these games)
  25. Walking to school alone
Come on, be honest.  Tell us what crazy stuff you did as a child.

In the Real World, Not Hollywood, the Left Is Close-Minded, and the Right Allows Dissent

There are now two Americas and only one is free.
I’ve split my professional life between two American cultures: half spent in the bluest-of-blue cities and the other half in the reddest-of-red rural South. I’ve split my jobs between universities and law firms that are almost uniformly Left and conservative nonprofits that are steadfastly Right. I attended a conservative, Christian college and then one of the nation’s most liberal law schools. My family has bounced between Cambridge, Massachusetts, Manhattan, rural Tennessee, small-town Kentucky, and Center City, Philadelphia (where we lived right at the edge of the so-called gayborhood). And after all those travels, I’ve come to at least two important conclusions: The sushi is better in Manhattan, and the freedom is better in Tennessee.
My conservative undergraduate institution — Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn. — was far more open to dissent, including from angry atheist classmates (yes, I had a few) than was Harvard Law School. No one was jeered, shouted down, or threatened at Lipscomb. No one called future employers of atheist or liberal students to try to get job offers canceled. Professors didn’t scream at dissenting students, and activists didn’t plaster photo-shopped, pornographic pictures of liberals all over campus walls. At Harvard, all those things happened — to conservative students.
My relatively conservative Kentucky law firm employed people of every ideological stripe, and we engaged in robust (and almost always friendly) discussions of virtually every kind of cultural and political topic. The firm’s pro bono work veered both liberal andconservative, depending on the views of the individual lawyer. When an LGBT activist complained to the managing partner of the firm about my conservative advocacy, she was shut down by a simple statement: “I’m running a law firm here, not the speech police.”
The overwhelming liberal majority expressed themselves freely, while the very few conservatives remained silent. Dissent was decidedly not welcome.
My Manhattan law firm, by contrast, performed only one kind of pro bono service: liberal. Political debates were virtually nonexistent in the workplace, but political conversations happened all the time. The overwhelming liberal majority expressed themselves freely, while the very few conservatives remained silent. Dissent was decidedly not welcome.
Even the conservative churches I’ve attended have been more ideologically diverse than the two major liberal campuses where I either attended (Harvard Law School) or taught (Cornell Law School). Indeed, the numbers demonstrate the truth of my anecdotal experience, with self-professed Evangelicals more politically diverse than not only Ivy League faculties but entire, allegedly “diverse” Northeastern cities. In other words, you’re more likely to hear a meaningful debate between people of fundamentally different political opinions in a church pew than in New York City.
This reality exerts a powerful influence on the residents of the two regions. While enjoying the undeniable organizational (and psychic) benefits of near-unanimity, urban liberals consistently think debates are “over” when they’ve scarcely begun, fail to understand (much less consider) opposing points of view, and consistently overestimate their cultural strength. An urban liberal can go his entire life without exposure to serious conservative ideas. This leads to an atmosphere rife with bullying but also prone to the occasional embarrassing overreach — such that brave conservatives can, for example, defeat even the largest universities in court as the universities’ ideological zeal outpaces their respect for the Constitution. I’ve been privileged to be a part of many such cases, in courtrooms across the nation.
In the South, I’ve found that rank-and-file conservatives are often amused rather than alarmed by most cultural debates. And while they have a much more difficult time escaping the Left (after all, everyone still has a TV and goes to the movies), they have a hard time taking, say, the Bruce Jenner story seriously. He’s more of a sad curiosity than a harbinger of cultural disaster. Unless they work for politically correct corporations (often those headquartered in Blue America), conservatives in the South usually find that radical social trends don’t affect their jobs, rarely affect their schools (which tend to retain a robust Christian and conservative presence at every level), and are barely a topic of conversation at church.
These two cultures create a reality that is exactly the opposite of that portrayed in Hollywood, according to which people always escape smaller towns and cities for the “broader horizons” of New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Yet it’s not small-town America that’s narrow-minded. Our great cities embrace a curious and constricted kind of diversity, in which people of all races, sexual orientations, and personal proclivities are celebrated and embraced — so long as their minds belong to the collective.
The urban Left isn’t willing to embrace legal or cultural federalism and allow states to go their own way.
We have yet to see whether these cultural approaches can coexist indefinitely. While your average Tennessean doesn’t much care what someone in New York City thinks or does, the urban Left isn’t willing to embrace legal or cultural federalism and allow states to go their own way. Instead, it demands that all social trends conform to its agenda, demands that public schools teach social leftism exclusively, and, most recently, refuses to allow even Indiana to chart its own course on religious freedom and tolerance.
Americans tend — over the long run — to reject censorship and intolerance, but past performance is no guarantee of future results. For those of us who live in Free America, our mission is clear: Resist legal and ideological aggression, and model the respect for free speech and individual liberty that we demand from our ideological foes. May the best culture win.

Another interesting Article from OZ. Political Correctness suppressing free speech around the world. Even in a nominally free country like OZ ordinary citizens are afraid to express their opinions publically on “controversial” subjects.  And what subject isn’t controversial these days? Even in America our First Amendment guarantee of free speech isn’t enough to protect a person from harassment or loss of their job.

Firearms Prohibition Orders in OZ

From an Australian Shooting Sports publication: an example of the hassles legal gun owners have to go through in Australia and other countries without  “Second Amendment” type constitutional protection of private gun ownership. None of this  harassment of legal gun owners for petty technical infractions of Australia's vexatious gun laws does anything material to stop gang bangers in Oz’ big cities from shooting at each other with illegally possessed guns on a regular basis. But the cops have to look like they are doing something to fight “real” crime so they go after the soft target: the peaceful, law-abiding gun owner. Glad to be an American!

Shooting victim pulls gun on attackers in Orange County Florida

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —A trail of damage is left behind after a shooter fired multiple shots in an Orange County neighborhood.
The bullets went flying as a man was walking home at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Rodrick Circle near Wyndham Lakes Boulevard.
The evidence from the shootout is still visible, including dried blood and a bullet hole lodged in a door frame.
According to the Orange County Sheriff'’s Office, a 25-year-old victim told deputies he was walking home when several people got out of a silver-colored car and began shooting at him.
Deputies say the victim pulled out his own gun and returned fire.
The victim was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooters got away.
Police said it's unclear how many people were involved or if the victim knew the suspects.
Renaud Fenster is the Home Owner’s Association president for Camden Landing at Wyndham Lake Estates. He said there is a neighborhood watch program and off-duty officers patrol the community.
It's unclear what sparked the shootout, which he believes was a targeted attack.
“It's a really tragic situation,” Fenster said.
Police have not released a description of the shooters nor have they released the name of the victim.
Anyone with information about the shooter(s) is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.

Hungary orders 100-mile Serbia border fence to keep out migrants

Foreign minister says they are taking action to stop hundreds of thousands of migrants entering the country as EU is 'too slow to act'
Hungary's foreign minister says the government is considering building a 13-foot-high fence along border with Serbia to stop the flow of migrants reaching the country.
Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Wednesday that the government asked Interior Minister Sandor Pinter to prepare the plan by next week.
"Immigration is one of the most serious problem facing the European Union today," he told a press conference. "The EU's countries seek a solution... but Hungary cannot afford to wait any longer."
Since the second half of 2014, the number of migrants and asylum seekers entering Hungary, mostly across the southern border with Serbia, has risen markedly.
So far this year, more than 53,000 people have requested asylum in Hungary, up from under 43,000 in 2014 and 2,150 in 2012.
"Preparation work for the fence should be completed by next Wednesday," he said.
"This decision does not break any international treaty, other countries have opted for the same solution."
Serbia is not yet a member of the European Union, though it has started membership talks, while EU member Hungary is part of the passport-free Schengen zone.
This means that once in Hungary, migrants can travel onwards easily to other countries in the zone.
Last year, Hungary received more refugees per capita than any other EU country apart from Sweden, shooting up to almost 43,000 people from just 2,000 in 2012.
According to official data, 95 percent of them cross from Serbia.
So far this year, some 54,000 migrants have entered Hungary, and the total this year is expected to be up to 130,000, Prime Minister Viktor Orban's chief of staff Janos Lazar said last Thursday.
The announcement comes amid a anti-immigration campaign by Orban's government involving billboards with slogans such as, "If you come to Hungary, you cannot take Hungarians' jobs."
The cabinets of Hungary and Serbia will hold a summit early July to tackle the issue, Orban said last week.

Arms of the Tunisian Mass Shooter - Gun Watch

Gruesome photos, but some interesting and relevant details about the weapons employed by the terrorist.

Note AKM stands for Автомат Калашникова Модернизированный; Avtomat Kalashnikova Modernizirovanniy or "Kalashnikov modernized automatic rifle") is a 7.62mm assault rifle designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov. It is a common modernized variant of the AK-47 rifle developed in the 1940s.
Introduced into service with the Soviet Army in 1959, the AKM is the most ubiquitous variant of the entire AK series of firearms and it has found widespread use with most member states of the former Warsaw Pact and its many African and Asian allies as well as being widely exported and produced in many other countries. The production of these Soviet rifles was carried out at both the Tula Arms Plant and Izhmash. It was officially replaced in Soviet frontline service by the AK-74 in the late 1970s, but remains in use worldwide.

The AKM then is a “mark”, a slight design change, to the basic of the AK-47 rather than an entirely new and different rifle. The AKM has some improvements over the original AK-47 design that facilitate manufacture. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AKM for details.

In the U.S. military procurement system the AKM would probably have been dubbed the “AK-47A1” denoting that it was the same basic rifle as the AK-47, but with some design changes that either improve performance or make the weapon faster and/or less expensive to manufacture . For example the U.S. M-16 was improved over the past 50 years with five different marks, from M-16 to M-16A4.

12 Actors Who Basically Play the Same Role in Every Movie

Pretty funny. Of course, in the past there have been countless other actors and actresses who were continually cast in the same the role, whether hero or villain. People wouldn’t have paid to see them any other way.
